Introduction to Reena's Horror Fest

For my A2 media coursework I will be making a media promotional package for a new film. My promotional package will include a teaser trailer, a magazine cover and a film poster. The genre of movies I will be analysing and creating my promotional package on is horror. There are many horror sub-genres  such as psychological, fantasy, dark fiction, erotic, surreal, soft horror, supernatural, ect. My trailer will be a psychological and supernatural horror effective because I will use codes and conventions of typical horror films and I will incorporate a typical horror mise en scene. I have chosen this hybrid because I wanted to widen my target audience.  The target audience will be teenagers over 15 and young adults of both males and females. It will be aimed at my main target audience and I will incorporate things that will appeal to them such as sex appeal and violence. 
The teaser trailer will create emotions in  audience such as shock, horror, thrill and suspense and the front cover of magazine and poster will make the audience want to see the film as they will be very intriguing and will include some props which are conventionally used in horror films such as a wheelchair or a scary doll but I have not as yet decided what prop I will be using.
